Используется для завершения односторонней котировки; например, дилер назначает цену за ценную бумагу в качестве "цены предложения за 10 без предложения на продажу" с целью создания впечатления, что дилер желает купить ценную бумагу за 10, но не желает ее продавать либо из-за того, что дилер не обладает ценной бумагой, либо не желает продавать ее по "короткой" сделке, т. е. на срок "без покрытия".
